The fact that she was reacting to the social/political issues as an artist who was claiming that she does not make any arts, is very effective in a way that I could see the power of contradiction here.
Using public participation in her performance arts was very inspiring for me.
Made me to think and look at my own practice from another angle of social issues.
Creating a new identity and performing in public was an odd combination of acting and not acting at the same time...because I think on that specific moment she was actually the new of her who reflected a new identity of herself...
Harold Offeh
Another performing artist who was challenging social situations, politics, racism, identity and etc...through reality and myth as duality.
His belief on power of art was very inspiring for me.
Using music album cover as a tool for exploring social history through time was too specific for me to believe him that you can actually represent identity.
His performance as a reaction to his surrounding as a man of color was a very effective tool to reconfigure a new realm of identity.
His idea of history and the narratives which he was using for his references to tackle the viewers thoughts of identity were very bold...therefore in my opinion he was very successful in a way to grasp public attention.
David Ross
Very interesting and refreshing idea of how art practice and art institutions could actually be connected.
His idea of the art institution was to become freer by learning more, asking more, reading more and use art to boost the industry, sounds very ambitious to me but also it was representing a new way of thinking towards art as a solution for industrial revolution.
The fact that he was reacting to the environmental problems by exhibiting related objects to that matters, was indicating a different method to look at the art practice.
