Stamps + Codes
Digital drawing layered with old Iranian stamps as a symbol of my childhood's memory
I am investigating the relationship between my individual memories and collective memories of my home country history. I used digital drawings of lines, points and surfaces in a very chaotic direction as a framework to showcase political, social and historical events by incorporating old stamps which are pointing out those events.

Dance + Drawing
It was an amazing experiment to be part of that session and had a chance to watch a professional performance of two dancers. Life drawing while they were dancing was very challenging therefore I tried to capture the transition between each movement. It was a theatrical experience as well as drawing event.

Walking Around Cities
In this particular experiment, I was trying to draw parts of city maps of Shiraz, Iran and Toronto, Canada from my memories of living and walking through their streets. I am reflecting my interpretation of those locations by using different color which each one shows variety of my feelings towards those places. I was testing the idea of being in a place mentally but not physically and trying to imagine how I was feeling on that specific moments of my life.

British Museum/Drawings & Prints
As part of MA course, I had this opportunity to pick my favorite drawings and prints at British Museum to look at them closely and draw from them. My choice was urban fabric of different cities and prints of Paul Noble. During these two sessions I copied them and also tried to illustrate my interpretation of those prints and drawings in a way to reflect my understandings of that artist's work. On the other hand it was a great opportunity to be able to practice artist technique in my drawings.

Print Making Techniques
In order to find the best technique for my drawing related to my narrative of 'an immigrant's connection to her life and memory' I tried to learn different photo prints techniques like photo polymer, photo etching, light liquid, hard ground, aquatint, and also digital prints.
As you can see highlights off these techniques bellow:

- Liquid Light Photography
Liquid light effect and texture could be very useful for my research and drawing practice because this print process reflects very nostalgic feeling. It articulates very well my ambiguous concept of memory.
